Israeli President Isaac Herzog has granted a pardon to former soldier Elor Azaria. The decision follows Azaria’s 2016 conviction for shooting and killing a wounded Palestinian man.
The announcement coincides with a large gathering in Jerusalem, where approximately 100,000 Jewish Israelis have assembled at the Western Wall to participate in prayers ahead of the Yom Kippur holiday.
