An unidentified man was shot and killed during an incident involving an off-duty police officer in Liberty Estate, Three Hills, St. Mary on Monday night. The confrontation also resulted in two other individuals sustaining gunshot injuries.
According to preliminary reports, the off-duty officer responded to sounds of gunfire and calls for assistance. Upon arrival, the officer encountered an armed man, which led to an exchange of gunfire. The suspect was found at the scene with gunshot wounds and a firearm and was subsequently pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Investigators have revealed that prior to the confrontation, the man had forcibly entered a room above a bar and opened fire, injuring two occupants before fleeing the area. The police are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the actions of the off-duty officer and the events that led to the initial shooting.
The identities of the injured individuals have not been disclosed, and further details regarding their conditions are not yet available. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to gather more information about the incident.
