Jadel Receives Second Citation in New York
Trinidad and Tobago soca artiste Jadel has received another honour in New York City, earning her second citation as recognition of her work and contribution continues to grow internationally.
The latest citation was presented by New York City Public Advocate Jumaane D. Williams and is dated September 3, 2026.
According to the citation, Jadel was recognised for her “exceptional artistry, dedication, and inspiring contributions to the community at large” on the occasion of Blocko Mania.
The recognition represents another milestone for the soca artiste, who has continued to carry Trinidad and Tobago’s culture and music onto stages outside the country.
Jadel expressed her appreciation following the recognition, responding simply, “Thnk uuuu.”
The latest honour comes as Caribbean artistes continue to command significant attention across New York, particularly during the annual Caribbean carnival season, when soca, calypso and other elements of regional culture take centre stage.
For Jadel, the citation is particularly significant as it is her second such recognition in New York, adding another achievement to her growing list of international honours.
