Italy’s Ambassador-Designate Meets Trinidad Officials Ahead of Formal Credential Presentation

Italy’s Ambassador-designate to Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excellency Giuditta Giorgio, has met with Permanent Secretary and Head of the Foreign Service Randall Karim ahead of the formal presentation of her credentials. The courtesy call took place at the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs headquarters on October 6, 2026. The meeting preceded Giorgio’s presentation of credentials to President Christine Carla Kangaloo, ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. During the discussions, officials reflected on the longstanding diplomatic relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Italy, which was formally established on January 3, 1964. The engagement also provided an opportunity for both sides to identify areas where cooperation and diplomatic engagement can continue to be strengthened. The meeting forms part of the formal process surrounding the arrival of a new ambassador, with the presentation of credentials officially recognising the diplomat as her country’s representative to Trinidad and Tobago.
