Isolated Thunderstorms Hit Southern Trinidad with Heavy Rainfall and Gusty Winds

Trinidad is experiencing a series of isolated thunderstorms primarily affecting its southern regions. Early reports indicate that a thunderstorm has developed near San Fernando, with another near Rio Claro in the southern interior. Meanwhile, isolated rainfall is occurring near Matelot in the northeastern part of the island.

Despite the thunderstorms, the rest of Trinidad is under variably cloudy skies, influenced by a mild presence of Saharan dust. This atmospheric condition is causing a hazy outlook across the island.

Residents in affected areas should be prepared for locally heavy rainfall and potential gusty winds accompanying the more intense showers. These conditions could pose temporary disruptions and require precautions when traveling or engaging in outdoor activities.

The meteorological office forecasts that this weather activity will begin to diminish towards sunset. However, brief isolated showers may persist in some eastern areas as the evening progresses. Citizens are advised to stay updated with local weather advisories and exercise caution in affected areas.
