Islamabad Airport Becomes First in Pakistan to Get Indoor 5G Connectivity

Islamabad International Airport has taken a major step into the digital age with the installation of its first indoor 5G internet service. The project, launched under the supervision of the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), makes the capital’s airport the first in the country to offer comprehensive indoor 5G connectivity.

The initiative, backed by a $5 million Chinese investment, aims to enhance digital connectivity and improve the overall passenger experience. Travelers passing through the terminal can now expect high-speed internet, faster downloads, and more reliable connectivity during their time at the airport.

The PAA has confirmed that upon completion, the 5G facility is projected to generate a monthly revenue of Rs600,000. This marks not only a technological upgrade but also a new revenue stream for the authority.

With this rollout, Islamabad International Airport sets a benchmark for other airports in Pakistan to follow, as the country continues to expand its digital infrastructure.
