Iran, US exchange new attacks: Who was hit in latest strikes?

**Iran and United States Exchange New Strikes, Raising Regional Tension**

The United States and Iran have carried out a fresh round of attacks, the most extensive since early August, prompting concerns that the conflict could broaden into a wider regional war.

**U.S. strikes**

U.S. Central Command said that American forces targeted “dozens of military sites” along Iran’s southern coast. Iranian officials reported that a U.S. airstrike hit a house used for a wedding celebration in the coastal town of Kuhestak, near the Strait of Hormuz, killing at least four people and wounding more than 68, including women and children. The Iranian Red Crescent Society released footage showing a building with blown‑out walls and windows, and images of children receiving treatment at a hospital in Sirik, which overlooks the strait.

The semi‑official Tasnim news agency added that explosions were reported in the coastal cities of Konarak, Bandar Abbas, Jask and Asaluyeh, as well as on Qeshm Island. In Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province, two locations near Ahvaz and Aghajari were struck, according to the province’s deputy governor for security affairs as reported by state broadcaster IRIB. Seven people were killed and eight injured in those attacks. In total, Iranian authorities said at least 18 people have died as a result of the U.S. strikes.

**Iranian retaliation**

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it launched a combined missile and drone operation against U.S. facilities in the region. The IRGC said it targeted:

* The Sheikh Isa Airbase in Bahrain, which hosts U.S. forces.
* Prince Hassan Airbase and a U.S. Marine base in Jordan.
* The headquarters and residence of the American commander at Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait.
* U.S. installations in Erbil province, northern Iraq.

Kuwait’s authorities reported intercepting drones and missiles but gave no casualty figures. Jordanian armed forces said air‑defence systems shot down 10 of 13 Iranian ballistic missiles that entered its airspace; the remaining three fell in remote areas without causing injuries.

**Political statements**

U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking on Fox News, warned that Iran would be “totally wiped out” if it responded to the U.S. attacks, adding that any retaliation would be met with a “much harder” response. In a post on the social‑media platform Truth Social, Trump said he preferred the United States’ “position now much better, with almost total control of the Hormuz Strait, and their economy totally collapsing,” and asked when the Iranian people would rise up and fight.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, said Tehran would “reciprocate”
