Iran Stands with Venezuela Amid US Military Build-Up

As tensions escalate in Venezuela, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has expressed unwavering support for Caracas in the face of increasing military presence by the United States. This statement comes as the US deploys warships, fighter jets, and 4,000 troops near the Venezuelan coast, a move Araghchi describes as a “blatant violation of the UN Charter” and an act of bullying. In response, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil has vowed to defend the nation’s sovereignty, calling on BRICS and other Latin American countries to denounce the US actions. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, reacting to the situation, has warned of potential “armed struggle” in the event of further US attacks, particularly after the US increased the bounty on his head to $50 million and sunk a Venezuelan motorboat.
