Iran and Oman Close to Temporary Strait of Hormuz Agreement

Iran and Oman are reportedly nearing a temporary agreement to manage maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. According to the proposed framework, inbound vessels would use a northern lane through Iranian waters, while outbound traffic would use a southern lane in Omani waters. It is alleged that no tolls would be charged during the initial 60-day period.

It is claimed that Pakistan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia have played key roles in mediating the agreement. Iranian leadership has reportedly approved the proposed framework, with a final statement currently being drafted.

The temporary agreement aims to regulate maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea. The details of the agreement are still being finalized, but it is expected to provide a temporary solution to managing shipping lanes in the region.
