**Chișinău** — Ion Ceban, Mayor of Chișinău, is cutting short a family vacation to return urgently to Moldova for leg surgery following an accident.

Ceban announced the incident himself, stating his intention to preemptively address potential speculation.

“Given that I am returning on a regular scheduled flight, I do not want to leave room for speculation and interpretations, sneakily taken photos, and sensationalist headlines by certain outlets. Unfortunately, these things happen, and this time, as fate would have it, it happened to me,” the mayor wrote.

He assured citizens that municipal operations will not be disrupted, stating, “Activity continues, and we are working exactly as before.”
