An investigation is underway following a theft at St Brigid’s Girls’ RC School in Siparia. The incident involved the disappearance of a laptop and cash from the office of the school’s principal. The items were last confirmed secure on April 10, 2026, but were discovered missing three days later on April 13. The stolen belongings include a silver Lenovo laptop, valued at approximately $4,300, and $200 in cash.
The principal reported that no authorization had been granted for anyone to access or remove her belongings from the office. This adds to the mystery as there were also no visible signs of forced entry into the office. This raises questions about how the items were removed from the locked drawer.
The police have been alerted and have launched an investigation into the incident. As of now, they are exploring all possible leads while the school community awaits clarity about this unsettling event. The incident has raised concerns about security within the school premises and the need for stricter measures.
