Recent dismissals at the Unemployment Relief Programme (URP) are now under investigation, with 928 workers having lost their jobs. Khadijah Ameen, MP for St. Augustine, revealed that some of these former employees were living abroad, returning only to receive their termination letters. Meanwhile, Barry Padarath, Couva South MP, noted that some Parliament members hold contractor positions within the Community-Based Environmental Protection and Enhancement Programme (CEPEP). This information was brought to light during a parliamentary session where government officials were questioned about CEPEP and URP.
