A security guard in Couva has been arrested following a police investigation into a $90,000 copper wire heist at a local business. The incident occurred late Monday night, when officers responded to a report of intruders at a business on Camden Road. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the guard handcuffed on the floor, claiming he had been tied up by the robbers.
According to reports, the suspects made off with a significant amount of copper wire and used a white Kia H-100 van to transport the stolen goods. This vehicle was later discovered abandoned on the compound, while the thieves managed to escape on foot.
During a subsequent search of the area, police apprehended two men, aged 24 and 25. Further investigation indicated that the security guard may have played a role in planning the theft, leading to his arrest as well. All three individuals are currently in police custody and will be questioned further as the investigation continues.
