The Indian cricket team completed a 3-0 series sweep against Afghanistan after winning the third and final T20 International by 127 runs. The match was held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
India batted first and posted a total of 221 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma led the scoring with a century, recording 108 runs off 34 balls, an innings that included 9 fours and 11 sixes. Sharma reached his century in 30 balls, marking the fastest T20 International century among full-member nations. Sanju Samson also contributed to the total with 50 runs off 35 balls. The pair shared a 142-run opening partnership before Sharma was dismissed by Rashid Khan in the tenth over.
In response, the Afghanistan team was bowled out for 94 runs in 14.1 overs. Ibrahim Zadran was the top scorer for his side with 25 runs. The Indian bowling attack was led by Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravi Bishnoi, who each claimed three wickets. Axar Patel took two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Yash Thakur secured one wicket each.
India, captained by Shreyas Iyer, had previously won the first two matches of the series by 7 wickets each. The victory in the third match finalized the series sweep.
