IMF Grants $346 Million to Venezuela After Devastating Earthquakes

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved $346 million in financial assistance to Venezuela following a series of severe earthquakes that left over 5,000 people dead. The aid is intended to support relief and reconstruction efforts in the South American nation, which was already grappling with a severe economic downturn. The earthquakes, which struck last week, caused widespread destruction in several regions, leaving thousands homeless and overwhelming local resources. The IMF’s decision comes amid international calls for swift humanitarian support. Venezuelan officials have welcomed the funding, emphasizing its importance for rebuilding critical infrastructure and providing emergency services to affected communities.
