A Hyderabad school has terminated a teacher and permanently barred her from future employment after allegations that she assigned religious homework to Class 2 students. The controversy erupted when parents and local BJP leaders filed a formal complaint at the Saidabad police station on Wednesday. In an official termination order dated July 15, the school management stated that the teacher’s services as a ‘Mother Teacher’ at the Sayeedabad branch were terminated effective July 16. The order also declared her permanently disqualified from applying for employment within the Success Group of Education Institutions. The issue sparked protests outside the school premises, with BJP workers and parents demanding immediate action. ‘Cancel the recognition of this school immediately! Shut it down! Arrest the Principal! All the teachers involved must be suspended right away,’ protesters shouted. Hyderabad Police intervened and detained several individuals, including BJP leader Andela Sriramulu Yadav and advocate Karuna Sagar. Yadav alleged that the school was teaching the Kalma and accused AIMIM leaders Asaduddin and Akbaruddin Owaisi of being behind the incident. Sagar questioned why no FIR had been registered and demanded the principal’s arrest. Police have not yet released a detailed statement on further investigation. The incident has heightened communal sensitivities in the region.
