The NHC issued a hurricane warning for Vieques, Culebra, and the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, where hurricane conditions are expected within the next 6 to 12 hours. Puerto Rico is under both a hurricane watch and a tropical storm warning, as the storm moves northwest at 13 mph.
Residents in Puerto Rico are urged to monitor local weather alerts and prepare for potential impacts as Dorian approaches. The storm’s minimum central pressure is 997 mb, and further strengthening is possible.
