The quiet neighborhood of Diamond Vale, Diego Martin was shattered on Wednesday evening when 52-year-old Nigel Nelson was found dead at his residence. A family friend, who visited the house around 6:35 p.m., made the chilling discovery. Nelson was found hanging from a sheet in a room doorway, leading to immediate contact of emergency services.
Responding promptly to the call, officers along with a District Medical Officer arrived at the scene. Given the grim circumstances, the medical officer requested that homicide investigators be called in. This move underscores the seriousness of the situation and the need for professional scrutiny.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau, together with crime scene investigators, efficiently processed the scene and gathered vital evidence. In accordance with standard procedure, Nelson’s body was transported under police escort to a local funeral home. It is being held there pending a thorough post-mortem examination.
The police have confirmed that further investigations are currently underway. Authorities are now awaiting the autopsy results, which will shed light on the exact cause of Nelson’s death, providing some much-needed answers in this tragic case.
