High-profile inmate Rajaee Ali charged for possessing contraband in prison

Rajaee Ali, a high-profile inmate at Golden Grove Prison, has been charged for possessing prohibited items while incarcerated. The formal charge was made on July 24, 2025, under Section 8(1)(f) of the Prison Service Act, for being found with a Samsung cellphone, a SIM card, and a charger on June 25, 2025. These items are classified as contraband unless authorized by the Commissioner of Prisons. Ali is currently held at the Staubles Bay Coast Guard facility in Chaguaramas. The investigation, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin and authorized by Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro, underscores the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s commitment to maintaining prison security and holding offenders accountable for breaches.
