High Court Orders Star Sabga’s Release Under House Arrest

Businesswoman Star Sabga has been ordered released under house arrest after High Court Judge Justice Vigel Paul ruled in her favour during proceedings challenging her continued detention.
According to the court’s findings, Justice Paul said the allegations against Sabga must be measured against the evidence presented before the court. He also found there was an absence of evidence linking her to any alleged conspiracy.
The judge further questioned the necessity of continuing to detain the elderly applicant, stating the court could not see how her detention was required to prevent any alleged conspiracy.
Despite the ruling, the State has been granted a stay of execution until 11:30 p.m. to allow time to file an appeal. This means the release order will not take immediate effect while the State considers its next legal steps.
The case is expected to continue as the appellate process unfolds.
