CATAÑO — A man was wounded by gunfire early Friday morning near the second entrance of the Juana Matos public housing complex in Cataño, according to the Puerto Rico Police Bureau. Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene to provide assistance to the victim, whose identity has not yet been released by authorities. The individual was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff reported that he remains in stable condition. Officers from the Cataño police district conducted the preliminary investigation at the scene. The case has been referred to agents from the Assault Division of the Bayamón Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC), who are working to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident.
