Continuous rainfall across Nepal has triggered widespread flooding and landslides, severely impacting major highways in Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Authorities report that the Mechi Highway in Ilam and the Arniko Highway in Sindhupalchok are completely blocked, stranding vehicles and disrupting travel. In Bhojpur and Khotang districts, the Mid-Hill Highway is operating with one-way traffic only, causing delays. The BP Highway and other arterial routes remain under threat as water levels rise. Rescue teams have been deployed, but access to affected areas is challenging. Commuters are advised to avoid non-essential travel and seek alternative routes.
