Guyana: Delcy Rodríguez thanks Guyana for support after earthquakes in Venezuela

Venezuela’s Acting President, Delcy Rodríguez, has publicly thanked Guyana’s President Dr. Irfaan Ali for the solidarity and support extended to Venezuela following two significant earthquakes that struck the northern coast of the country on Wednesday. The earthquakes, recorded at magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, resulted in widespread destruction, including the collapse of homes and infrastructure.

In light of this disaster, President Ali’s gesture of assistance has been acknowledged by Rodríguez, who emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in times of crisis. The earthquakes have raised concerns about the safety and well-being of the affected populations, prompting neighboring countries to offer their help.

Guyana’s response reflects a commitment to regional solidarity and humanitarian support during emergencies. The situation in Venezuela remains critical as recovery efforts begin, and the international community is closely monitoring the developments.

The earthquakes have highlighted the vulnerabilities faced by the region, and the response from neighboring countries like Guyana underscores the importance of collaboration in addressing such natural disasters. Further updates on the recovery efforts and the extent of the damage are expected as the situation evolves.
