The body of a 20-year-old woman from Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, was discovered in a shallow grave in Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, seven days after her alleged murder, according to a statement from the Guyana Police Force. The deceased has been identified as Kerriana Stanford, who was a housewife.
Following an investigation, police arrested a 24-year-old porter from Chelsea Park, Mahaica. Authorities indicated that Stanford had visited the suspect’s residence prior to her disappearance. The police were led to the location where the body was found buried in a shallow grave at the back of a property in Chelsea Park, Mahaica.
“Acting on information received, police visited the location, where the body of a female was discovered buried in a shallow grave at the back of the property,” the police statement noted. The suspect was subsequently taken to the Mahaicony police station, where he is being held as part of the ongoing investigation.
