A driver working for Furness Trinidad Limited was robbed at gunpoint in Sea Lots yesterday morning. The incident occurred around 8 am after the 48-year-old man collected an undisclosed amount of cash from his employer at their Production Drive location. While waiting in traffic to merge onto the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway towards Port-of-Spain, three men approached his van. One of the assailants, armed with a gun, confronted him at the front passenger door, while the other two targeted the driver’s and right rear passenger doors. In a threatening move, the gunman demanded the cash, prompting the driver to comply out of fear for his safety. After obtaining the money, the suspects fled back into Sea Lots, with the gunman firing three shots at the van as they escaped. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident has raised concerns about safety in the area.
