During the sprint race of the Qatar Grand Prix, Ducati rider Pecco Bagnaia was involved in a serious crash on the second lap. He was rear‑ended by Fermin Aldeguer, which caused a violent highside that left Bagnaia on the track. The rider remained conscious but was visibly injured and in pain. The race was red‑flagged to allow medical staff to attend to him. Bagnaia was taken off the circuit on a stretcher, and the stoppage was necessary to enable stewards to safely remove him from the track.
