Government Reaffirms Focus on Indigenous Solomon Islanders in Economic Development

The Solomon Islands government has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing indigenous Solomon Islanders in the country’s economic development. According to Minister of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, Hon. Harry Kuma, the government’s policies aim to place indigenous Solomon Islanders at the center of the country’s economic growth.

Minister Kuma made the statement in his speech in response to the Speech from the Throne in Parliament. He mentioned the government’s policy known as the “First Bite”, although further details about the policy were not provided.

The government’s focus on indigenous Solomon Islanders is part of its economic development strategy, as announced by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration. The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC) reported on the government’s reaffirmed commitment to prioritizing the economic development of indigenous Solomon Islanders.
