A high-ranking official at the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism, along with two of her relatives, became victims of a violent home invasion in Cascade on the evening of November 20th, 2025. Upon arriving home, the 52-year-old Permanent Secretary and her 73 and 12-year-old relatives were accosted by four masked men, two of whom were armed. The invaders forced the victims inside, assaulted the 73-year-old, and ransacked the residence. Stolen property included cash, electronics, personal belongings, and several government-issued items. The assailants then fled the scene in the victim’s car, a white Subaru Crosstrek. The police are currently investigating the incident.
