Efforts to alleviate operational issues affecting Caribbean Airlines Limited have been ramped up, as the Government held a high-level meeting with the airline’s leadership on April 14, 2026. The discussions were spearheaded by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Senator Eli Zakour, and included members of the airline’s board and senior officials from his ministry.
The primary focus of the meeting was to pinpoint and address the key operational challenges currently plaguing the airline. Top of the agenda were improving efficiency, bolstering internal management systems, and elevating the quality of service provided to passengers.
This engagement is part of a wider strategy to stabilise operations at the national carrier, with a focus on enabling it to better respond to growing regional and international travel demand. The discussions also highlighted the need to enhance the airline’s long-term competitiveness.
Government representatives underscored the significance of continued collaboration between the State and the airline. This partnership is seen as vital to maintaining reliable air connectivity and fostering growth in Trinidad and Tobago’s aviation sector. The meeting was also attended by notable members of the Caribbean Airlines Board.
