Justice Minister Toni Gogu announced four measures aimed at strengthening procedural guarantees for juveniles who come into contact with law‑enforcement agencies. The proposals were presented during a meeting of the National Council for Rights and Protection of the Child. The measures include: 1. A rights form written in clear, child‑friendly language. 2. Immediate provision of legal representation for the child. 3. Early notification of child‑protection staff when a juvenile is involved. 4. Creation of shared inter‑institutional data to monitor the implementation of these guarantees. Minister Gogu also noted that the Inter‑Sectoral Justice Strategy for Juveniles 2027–2030 is currently open for public consultation until 22 November. He highlighted ongoing work to transform the juvenile institute, with a focus on education, rehabilitation, and reintegration into families. In a statement, Gogu said, “The child who has made a mistake should leave the meeting with justice with school, profession, and family nearby, not with another file.”
