Gibraltar Body Art Association looks ahead to 15th year after busy 2026

Gibraltar Body Art Association Celebrates 2026 Successes Ahead of 15th‑Year Milestone The Gibraltar Body Art Association (GBAA) concluded a busy 2026 with a series of festivals, workshops and competitions that drew artists, models, photographers and enthusiasts from Gibraltar and beyond. The year began with the Gibraltar Body Art Festival, which attracted participants worldwide to celebrate body painting and showcase a range of artistic styles. The festival’s themes, “Imaginarium” and “The Colours Of Life,” provided a platform for local and visiting artists to exchange ideas, techniques and experiences. Following the festival, the association hosted the BathBodyArt Weekend, featuring workshops, talks and competitions that encouraged skill development and collaboration among participants. A new addition to the calendar was the Meze Body Art Weekend, a more intimate gathering that combined body painting, performance and photography. The event offered further opportunities for cultural exchange after the earlier activities in Gibraltar. In addition to in‑person events, the GBAA organized an online competition to select themes for the 2027 Gibraltar Body Art Festival. Members, artists and the wider community submitted ideas from around the world. The winning themes were “Myths & Monsters,” “Woman As A Universe,” and “Creative Makeup – Other Worlds.” Throughout 2026, the association promoted body art as an art form, providing opportunities for artists and models to develop their skills, collaborate and participate in creative activities. The GBAA thanked the artists, models, photographers, organisers, supporters, sponsors and all attendees for their contributions to the programme. Looking ahead, the Gibraltar Body Art Association plans further events and opportunities to showcase body art on the Rock and beyond as it approaches its 15th year of events.
