Georgie Lee Gill Secures Top 40 Spot for Miss World 2026 in Dramatic Fashion

Georgia-Lee Gill Secures Miss World Top 40 Spot After Head-to-Head Victory

Trinidad and Tobago’s Georgia-Lee Gill has secured her place among the Top 40 contestants at Miss World 2026 after winning the Head-to-Head Challenge for the Americas and Caribbean.

Gill emerged as the regional winner during the competition in Vietnam, earning automatic advancement into the Top 40 and keeping Trinidad and Tobago firmly in contention for the Miss World crown.

The achievement was officially celebrated by Miss World, which congratulated Gill on her victory and highlighted another significant accomplishment for Trinidad and Tobago: the country has now won the Americas and Caribbean Head-to-Head Challenge for two consecutive years.

Gill follows Anna-Lise Nanton, who captured the same regional Head-to-Head title during the previous Miss World competition and also advanced to the Top 40.

The Head-to-Head Challenge places emphasis on contestants’ communication skills, confidence and ability to articulate their ideas and causes, making it one of the major preliminary components of the Miss World competition.

Gill’s victory now places her alongside the other continental Head-to-Head winners: Romanda Hombir of South Africa for Africa, Asia Rose Simpson of the Philippines for Asia and Oceania, and Julia Kühnle of Germany for Europe. The four regional winners are competing for an automatic place in the Miss World Top 20.

The 24-year-old Gill earned the right to represent Trinidad and Tobago internationally after winning the Miss World Trinidad and Tobago title in December 2025. Her journey to the international stage has also included advocacy surrounding dementia care, inspired by her own experience as a caregiver.

Her latest achievement continues a strong period for Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World and gives the country another guaranteed presence in the latter stages of the competition.

With a Top 40 position now secured, attention will turn to how far Gill can carry the red, white and black as the Miss World 2026 competition continues in Vietnam.
