Georgia-Lee Gill proudly claims Caribbean crown on world stage

Trinidad and Tobago is celebrating another major achievement on the international stage after Georgia-Lee Gill was crowned Miss World Caribbean 2026.

Gill secured the prestigious regional title during the 73rd Miss World pageant in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on Saturday, September 5, adding her name to Trinidad and Tobago’s history at the global competition.

Her achievement makes her the sixth woman from Trinidad and Tobago to capture the Miss World Caribbean title.

Gill entered the final with momentum after an impressive performance throughout the competition. She previously won the Americas and Caribbean leg of the Head-to-Head Challenge, automatically securing her place among the Miss World Top 40.

Her campaign was also driven by her Beauty With a Purpose advocacy, which focuses on dementia and Alzheimer’s awareness and providing greater support for families and caregivers.

Gill’s work has a personal connection. Her experience caring for her grandmother, who lives with Alzheimer’s disease, helped inspire her advocacy and the creation of initiatives aimed at supporting caregivers and vulnerable elderly people.

The University of the West Indies graduate holds a double major in Biology and Biochemistry and has also used her platform to raise awareness about cybercrime targeting elderly people.

While Gill did not capture the overall Miss World crown, her performance delivered a significant Caribbean title for Trinidad and Tobago.

The overall Miss World 2026 title went to Joheirry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic.

Gill was subsequently named Miss World Caribbean, completing a memorable campaign for Trinidad and Tobago on one of international pageantry’s biggest stages.

Her victory continues Trinidad and Tobago’s strong history in international pageantry and gives the country another reason to celebrate on the world stage.
