**MISRATA** — Mohamed Al-Raied, Chairman of Libya’s General Union of Chambers of Commerce, hosted Onishi Yohei, Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, and his accompanying delegation at the Historic Building in Misrata on Tuesday, August 4.
The meeting was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Libya Shimura Izuru, along with the Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation office in Misrata and the Head of the Civil Society Commission branch in Misrata.
According to the General Union of Chambers, the visit was intended to strengthen bilateral relations between Libya and Japan, discuss prospects for joint economic cooperation, and explore new investment opportunities to support development and foster partnerships between the two nations.
Officials also exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and emphasized the importance of continued coordination and the establishment of effective partnerships between relevant institutions in both countries.
