Gender-Based Violence Case Manage, Kwasi Gill, Found Dead in Belmont

The search for missing Beetham Gardens resident Kwasi Dion Gill ended tragically on Saturday after the 41-year-old was reportedly found dead along Lady Young Road.

Gill had been reported missing after leaving his Beetham Gardens home at approximately 10 p.m. on Friday, August 7.

According to preliminary reports, Gill was expected to attend an event but allegedly never arrived. Attempts by relatives to contact him reportedly went unanswered, prompting an appeal for information about his whereabouts.

At approximately 3.04 p.m. on Saturday, Belmont police reportedly received information that a body had been seen along the roadway in the Textile Hill area of Lady Young Road.

Responding officers reportedly discovered a man lying on the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds. He was subsequently identified as Gill.

Initial reports indicate that crime scene investigators allegedly recovered five spent 9mm shell casings and three projectiles from the area.

A District Medical Officer reportedly visited the scene, pronounced Gill dead and ordered the removal of his body to the Forensic Science Centre, where a post-mortem examination is expected to determine the official cause of death.

Gill was employed as a Gender-Based Violence Case Manager with the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

Police investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death are continuing.
