A tragic incident occurred in Gasparillo on Monday night when Everton Andrews, a 42-year-old man with a mental disability, was shot while asleep in his home on Cartatal Road. Authorities reported that officers were on patrol when they responded to reports of gunfire around 10:20 PM. A nearby resident reported hearing two gunshots and later discovered Andrews unresponsive on his mattress, suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency services were called, and a district medical officer confirmed the death, ordering the body to be sent to the Forensic Science Centre for a post-mortem examination. Andrews was last seen alive earlier that evening by his sister, who had brought him dinner. As of now, police have not established a motive for the shooting, and investigations led by Cpl Latchman are ongoing.
