Gas Prices Decrease in Prince Edward Island

As of August 7, 2026, gas prices in Prince Edward Island have decreased for the third time this week, following an adjustment by the Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission (IRAC). The changes took effect at 12:01 a.m. on August 7.

According to IRAC, the price of regular gas decreased by 3.0 cents per liter, while premium gas decreased by 3.5 cents per liter. The new price range for regular self-serve gas is between 180.4 and 181.6 cents per liter, and for premium gas, it is between 190.2 and 194.2 cents per liter.

Additionally, the price of diesel decreased by 2.5 cents per liter, with a new price range of 228.7 to 229.9 cents per liter. Furnace oil prices also decreased by 3.0 cents per liter, with a maximum price of 161.6 cents per liter.

There were also changes to some propane prices, with Kenmac Energy Inc. and Noonan Petroleum decreasing by 0.4 cents per liter. In contrast, the price of Superior Propane increased by 0.4 cents per liter. Propane prices from Irving Energy and Avenir Energy remained unchanged, with prices ranging from 81.9 to 85.5 cents per liter.

In its announcement, IRAC provided comparative petroleum pricing information from the same period in 2025. On August 6, 2025, the price of Brent crude oil was $67.75 per barrel, compared to $79.06 on August 6, 2026. The price of regular gas on August 6, 2025, was 151.3 cents per liter.

IRAC’s next scheduled pricing adjustment is set for August 11.
