**Ganja Stadium Achieves UEFA Category 4 Status**
Baku, Azerbaijan – The Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) announced that Ganja Stadium has been granted UEFA Category 4 status, the highest classification in UEFA’s stadium ranking system. The upgrade follows a two‑year effort to align the venue with UEFA’s infrastructure, safety, and operational standards.
Category 4 stadiums meet the most stringent requirements set by UEFA and are eligible to host top‑level European competitions. With the new designation, Ganja Stadium can now accommodate higher‑profile international matches, expanding opportunities for both domestic clubs and visiting teams.
Located in Ganja, Azerbaijan’s second‑largest city, the stadium is a key sports facility in the region. AFFA, the national governing body for football founded in 1992 and a member of both UEFA and FIFA, oversees amateur and professional football activities across the country, including the Azerbaijan Cup.
