Fuel Shortage Sparks Panic Buying and Long Lines Across Guyana

A fuel shortage triggered long lines and panic buying at gas stations across Guyana on Monday, with several outlets limiting sales or running out of supply. President Irfaan Ali met with fuel importers and was assured delayed shipments were expected overnight, while authorities said they were also working to secure additional supplies to ease pressure at the pumps. Motorists across Georgetown and other areas said the shortage had created major stress and uncertainty.
