Four Arrested, Firearms and Marijuana Seized in Major Anti-Crime Operation in North Easter Division

In a significant crackdown, four individuals were apprehended during an anti-crime operation in the North Easter Division. The operation was executed on May 20, 2026, in the Barataria district and lasted from 11 am to 4 pm.

The arrestees included a 20-year-old male, who was detained for possession of a Glock 19 pistol and two magazines loaded with a total of 25 rounds of ammunition. In addition, three other suspects, all between the ages of 23 to 26 and hailing from Morvant, were arrested on charges of possessing a Beretta pistol and a magazine with 15 rounds of ammunition.

The operation also led to the seizure of two firearms and quantities of ammunition. Furthermore, officers discovered and eradicated 30 fully mature marijuana trees in an abandoned area within the same district.

Investigations are still underway regarding the aforementioned incidents. The operations were orchestrated by W/Snr. Supt. Guy-Alleyne, Supt. Birch, ASP Ali, with the support of officers from various units including Morvant Criminal Investigations Department and Police Station, the NED Task Force, the NED Gang Intelligence Unit, Air Support Unit, and the Coastal and Marine Unit.
