An intelligence-led police operation in Arima resulted in the arrest of four men and the seizure of a firearm and ammunition. Officers of the Northern Division North, under the leadership of ACP Singh and others, conducted the operation from 2:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. During a street-check exercise, officers noticed a suspicious vehicle that made a sudden turn and sped off upon noticing the police. The pursuit ended with the vehicle being intercepted and searched, leading to the discovery of several number plates, and the arrest of four suspects. Later, officers returned to the area using intelligence information and discovered a 9mm Glock pistol with a magazine containing fourteen rounds of ammunition at a specific location. The Northern Division Crime Scene Investigation Unit processed and photographed the scene. The investigation is still ongoing.
