Former finance minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira is now recovering at home after suffering a medical episode during a live television interview on ‘Conversations with Zelisa’ on Real TV. The incident occurred on Thursday morning around 10:20 a.m., when Nunez-Tesheira fell silent and slumped back in her chair, prompting immediate action from host Zelisa Boodoosingh and her staff.
She was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where doctors confirmed she had suffered a heart attack. After stabilizing her condition, hospital officials discharged her, allowing the former minister to continue her recovery at home.
Nunez-Tesheira has since expressed her gratitude to the medical staff, family, friends, and the public who sent prayers and well wishes during her hospital stay. She also thanked the quick-acting team at Real TV and those who provided immediate assistance after the medical emergency.
Boodoosingh, who accompanied Nunez-Tesheira to the hospital, praised the swift response of her staff and emergency personnel. She expressed relief at seeing Nunez-Tesheira’s condition improve and confirmed that the former minister is expected to continue recuperating under medical supervision.
