Former Deputy PM Balluku Faces New Corruption Evidence

Albania’s Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has reportedly uncovered new evidence as part of an ongoing investigation into former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. The investigation marks a significant development involving a prominent figure within the governing Socialist Party.

On Wednesday, SPAK announced that a special court has ordered the seizure of a villa located at the Green Coast complex in Palasë, situated on Albania’s southern coast. Prosecutors allege that the property was effectively owned by Balluku but was registered under the name of former Albanian international footballer Igli Tare to conceal the true ownership.

This seizure represents the second property that prosecutors have linked to Balluku as part of their broader corruption inquiry. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these assets as the legal proceedings against the former official progress.
