Flávio Bolsonaro supera por estrecho margen a Lula con el 13,6 % del escrutinio en Brasil

Flávio Bolsonaro leads Lula by a narrow margin in Brazil’s presidential runoff In the second round of Brazil’s presidential election held on Sunday, 25 October, the Liberal Party (PL) candidate Flávio Bolsonaro is ahead of incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. According to a partial count, Bolsonaro has 50.03 % of the valid votes, while Lula has 49.97 %, a difference of 0.06 percentage points. The result remains provisional because a large number of ballots are still uncounted. The runoff was marked by logistical challenges, including transportation problems for voters and a controversial court decision that extended the voting period by two hours. Supreme Court Justice Cristiano Zanin ordered the extension after both campaigns requested it, citing difficulties in several regions. Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, is seeking to return the Liberal Party to the presidency. Lula, representing the Workers’ Party (PT), aims to secure a second term. The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) is continuing the vote tally to determine the next president of the country.
