First Lady Launches P1.5 Million Digital Centre at Sankoyo Primary School

A new P1.5 million digital centre was officially launched at Sankoyo Primary School yesterday, marking a significant step in expanding digital infrastructure into Botswana’s rural communities. The facility was officiated by First Lady Kaone Tumalano Boko, alongside Minister of Youth and Gender Affairs Lesego Chombo and Minister of Communications, Knowledge and Technology David Tshere. Funded by the Universal Services and Access Fund (UASF) through the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA), the centre aims to bridge the digital divide by providing students and the local community with access to computers and the internet. The initiative is expected to enhance educational opportunities and digital literacy in one of the country’s underserved areas.
