Fire Devastates Home in Bamboo Settlement

On January 18, 2026, a fire broke out in a home located in Nanan Street, Bamboo Settlement. The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m., when the homeowner heard crackling sounds from an upstairs room. Upon investigation, he found the room completely engulfed in flames. Firefighters from the San Juan Fire Station, led by Sub Fire Officer Daniel, along with a team from the Wrightson Road Headquarters, were quick to respond and extinguish the blaze. Despite their efforts, the house was entirely destroyed. Police officers PC Ragoonath and PC Ramjattan also arrived at the scene but thankfully, no injuries were reported.
