This cautionary message, which was delivered without specifying a date for the forthcoming Budget, is starkly at odds with the optimistic promises made by the UNC during the elections four months ago. Then, the UNC had promised to create 50,000 new jobs, stimulate economic growth, diversify the economy, revitalize the energy sector, and significantly increase public servants’ salaries. The nation now anxiously awaits the unveiling of Budget 2026.
