A horrific hit-and-run accident on Father’s Day plunged a Wallerfield family into mourning, claiming the life of 42-year-old Davenanad Santo. The incident occurred late Sunday night on Bermuda Road, shortly after Santo had left his sister’s house where he had spent part of the day. According to witnesses, Santo was struck by a vehicle, reportedly a seven-seater, whose driver fled the scene without stopping.
Santo was rushed to the Arima Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. The tragic event has reopened wounds for a family still grappling with the violent death of Santo’s 16-year-old daughter, Aliyah Santo, less than two years prior. The teenager was fatally shot at her home on Antigua Road, Wallerfield, and her boyfriend, Hakeem Ramsammy, was subsequently charged with manslaughter.
The double tragedy has left the Santo family reeling, marking another devastating chapter in their life. The police are continuing their investigations into the fatal hit-and-run incident and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward. The family, still grieving and seeking justice for their lost ones, await closure as they navigate through this painful period.
The story of the Santo family’s unimaginable loss serves as a stark reminder of the devastating effects of violence and reckless behavior on families and communities.
