Fatal Stabbing in Arima Bar Altercation: One Dead, One in Custody

Tragedy struck outside a bar in Arima on June 1, when an argument escalated into a violent confrontation leaving one man dead. The victim, identified as Wilfred Madoo, 37, was involved in a dispute at a bar along Prince Street, near the Arima Magistrates’ Court, when things turned deadly. During the confrontation, Madoo sustained multiple stab wounds.

In an attempt to escape, Madoo ran along the roadway but collapsed a short distance away. He was immediately rushed to the Arima Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for intensive treatment.

Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Madoo succumbed to his injuries later that evening, marking a grim end to the altercation. In the aftermath of the incident, a man presented himself to the Arima Police Station two days later. He was informed of the ongoing investigation into the incident and subsequently detained pending further enquiries.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for justice for Madoo. As police continue their investigations into the matter, the identity of the suspect and the motives behind the altercation remain under scrutiny.
