A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle culminated in a fatal shootout on the Endeavour Flyover in Chaguanas on the night of July 18, 2025. Police were alerted around 9:52 p.m. about a stolen red Nissan Tiida, registration PCX 4893, last seen in the Crown Trace area. Officers from the Central Division Task Force (CDTF) North spotted the vehicle on Bhagaloo Street with a lone male driver. When police attempted to intercept the Tiida, the driver fled, leading to a chase that ended when the vehicle crashed into a red Honda Civic on the Endeavour Flyover. Fortunately, the occupants of the Civic—a male driver and front-seat passenger—were unharmed. After the crash, the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot, during which he allegedly pointed a firearm at pursuing officers and opened fire. In response, officers fired back in self-defense, striking the suspect. A revolver was later found near his body. The suspect, identified as Kenneth Agard, a known priority offender, was transported to the Chaguanas Health Facility where he was pronounced dead. The scene was processed by Crime Scene Investigators, and both vehicles were towed to the Chaguanas Police Station. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
